Music Timeline

The black and white and shaky filming shows its white an old indie style video. The solo black singer has a very powerful voice and focus of the camera is entirely on her.

Music from the 50s/60s. This music video promotes the song by making it quite a large scened video with very unique extravagant dancing to grab the attention of the viewer. The costumes are all similar which makes all the performers on the same ranking.

Here is a Music Video from the 70s. Most of the videos around this era were of performances however this particular one isn't. The costume begins to be a bit more individual and distinctive, each person stands out and has their own style and many of the men had long hair. They started to get some mixed up locations for the videos to veer from the usual and spice it up.

Here is a video from the 80s MTV US first airing. This video is made up of a combination between a performance and surrealism which is quite an innovative idea for its time compared to other music videos of that time. The visual effects and techniques of transition are very complex and impressive which would interest many people and therefore will apply to a large audience.

This is quite a groundbreaking video that had lots of hits. This video is not typically reflective of the genre, it is based on the beatles' performance on the ed Sullivan show which completely contrasts the typical hip hop video. This makes the video a performance video, the video contains a band of all different versions of one member of outkast.

My age group will watch a music video on their phones on the go if they are fans of the artist already or if there is a recommendation seen on social media.
